Where do all the vehicles go...?

My son opened my eyes to the many different vehicles around us, his enthusiasm and excitement about each and every one was unrelenting!  Where are they going? He would ask.  What are they doing?  A thought from Rachel Carson resonated with me that says '"if a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in".  So together we learnt about all the vehicles we encountered!  The farm ones, the construction ones, the emergency ones, the wildlife ones, the ones in Africa, the ones in Antarctica... we're still learning!

The 'Where are you going today' series began with 'Tractor - Where Are You Going Today?' - the special Christmas edition in aid of Garden House Hospice Care.  While attending their annual 'Farmers on Christmas Lights Tour' in 2023 (which everyone loved!), we had the idea that we could write a book about the tractor parade to capture the fun of the many decorated tractors and help with the fundraising campaign.

While working on that book we came across other charities which we wanted to help with their fundraising campaigns (and we learnt about their special vehicles of course!).

We decided to start a series of books where we could share with all the other little enthusiasts what all the vehicles do.  Learn each ones story - what special job does it do and what does it contribute to the world we live in?  Using the vehicles to provide a means for young children to understand the world around us.  Do they help grow food, do they assist with important science, do they get our letters and parcels from one place to another?

We hope you enjoy reading and finding out!  Share your enjoyment of vehicles and our books with us @todaywhereareyougoing
